Perspectives.tolerance.org
Peg Rood shared Perspectives for a Diverse America as the first featured resource. Peg and Michelle Campbell, District 1199C, spent some time reviewing the website together, and these are their thoughts:
The resource is a valuable one worthy of exploration. It is a well-designed site and easy to navigate. The filter feature provides opportunities to select readings for our adult learners at all EFLs. The site includes much more than selected rigorous texts exemplifying anti-basis themes; the site also includes professional development modules, critical practices for developing academic and social-emotional goals, as well as tasks and strategies for writing to the source, exploring and responding to read alouds, close and critical reading, and word work with academic Tier 2 vocabulary.
Peg and Michelle thought that it would be enlightening if a group of practitioners from across the State explored the site together and shared their ideas on using the site. Do we have any PAACE members that would like to join an “exploration team?” Please e-mail us if you are interested.
